Cut List

A Cut List is a report listing of all the parts you need to make for a cabinet or a Job. It lists the parts, material they are made from and their size.

An icon in the top toolbar launches the Cut List in a separate window. Certain areas of the software also have selections from right click menus that will run the Cut List report.

The first thing you must realize about the eCabinet Systems Cut List is that you can run a Cut List for any cabinet, combination of cabinets or an entire Job. A Cut List can be run from the Cabinet/Assembly Editor, from Custom Layout or from pretty much anywhere else in the software. Therefore, when you run a Cut List report, it is important to realize and understand where it is run from and exactly what it includes.

Also, the Cut List reflects the cabinet or job as it exists when the report is run. When the Cut List is run, the window that contains it remains open until you close it. Therefore, should you run a Cut List, then change the job, that Cut List report is no longer accurate although, until you close the window, you can still access it.

There may be times when this can be useful. You can run a Cut List for a job, then make a change and run it again. Both Cut Lists now exist in separate windows and you can compare them side by side.

From the Cabinet/Assembly Editor, the Cut List reflects any cabinet or combination of cabinets that are highlighted. If nothing is highlighted, the Cut List reflects everything currently loaded in the workspace.

It works pretty much the same way in Custom Layout. If one or more cabinets or items are highlighted, the Cut List reflects those items. If nothing is highlighted, the Cut List reflects the entire Job.

It is important to note that in this case, the Cut List not only includes everything in the Custom Layout but also includes any cabinets loaded in the Job through Batch Input.
